DeSKoll is one of 30 projects approved for funding under the Program for Excellent Projects of Young Researchers and Scientists in the Early Career Phase – PROMIS 2023.
The goal of this innovative project is to develop a German-Serbian online dictionary of collocations and a corresponding mobile application, which will serve as free digital resources for learning and teaching the German lenguage.
The project team consists of researchers from the Philological and Art Faculty of the University of Kragujevac – prof. Dr. Nikola Vujčić, supervisor, assistent profesor Ph.D. Julijana Vuletić Đurić, Assoc. Dr. Georgina Frei and Assoc. Dr. Marija Nijemčević Perović. From partner institutions, Aleksandar Nikolić from the Faculty of Philosophy of the Universizy of Novi Sad and Dijana Stojić from Faculty of Technical Sciences in Čačak are involved in the implementation.

Project Presentation at the MetaCol International Conference 2024
We are pleased to announce that team members Marija Nijemčević Perović and Georgina Frei presented their research at the MetaCol International Conference, titled “Eine empirische Analyse der Kollokationskompetenz serbischsprachiger Germanistikstudierender”, held on October 3–4, 2024, at the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik.
The presentation addressed the challenges of mastering collocations in foreign language learning, with a particular focus on German as a foreign language. We also introduced the DeSKoll Project, aimed at developing a Serbian-German online collocation dictionary. We presented the digital exercises of the online dictionary, which will help prevent common collocational errors, thus supporting both students and teachers in developing collocational competence.
The conference was an excellent opportunity to share our findings, discuss the implications for language teaching, and connect with colleagues working on similar projects in Greece, Croatia, and Poland.
