We are pleased to announce that team members Marija Nijemčević Perović and Georgina Frei presented their research at the MetaCol International Conference, titled “Eine empirische Analyse der Kollokationskompetenz serbischsprachiger Germanistikstudierender”, held on October 3–4, 2024, at the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik.
The presentation addressed the challenges of mastering collocations in foreign language learning, with a particular focus on German as a foreign language. We also introduced the DeSKoll Project, aimed at developing a Serbian-German online collocation dictionary. We presented the digital exercises of the online dictionary, which will help prevent common collocational errors, thus supporting both students and teachers in developing collocational competence.
The conference was an excellent opportunity to share our findings, discuss the implications for language teaching, and connect with colleagues working on similar projects in Greece, Croatia, and Poland.
